1. Architecture & Client-Side Intermediary Role

RKMovies is an open-standard, client-side media player and search aggregation client. Much like an internet browser (e.g., Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome) or a media player (e.g., VLC or mpv), RKMovies provides an interface for users to parse public web feeds and render video streams using their device's native hardware decoders (MediaCodec on Android, Direct3D/QuickSync/NVDEC on Windows).

Explicit Non-Hosting Declaration

RKMovies does not host, store, upload, transmit, or encode any copyrighted video files, audio tracks, or media files on its servers. RKMovies does not operate any file-hosting servers, video databases, or content delivery networks. All video URLs, metadata titles, descriptions, and media streams are indexed from independent third-party web services over standard HTTPS protocols.

2. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) Section 512 Safe Harbor

RKMovies complies with Title II of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) and the European Union E-Commerce Directive (2000/31/EC, Articles 12–15) regarding online service provider and intermediary liability:

  • Transitory Digital Network Communications (§ 512(a)): RKMovies acts solely as a conduit for data transmission initiated by the user.
  • Information Location Tools (§ 512(d)): RKMovies refers or links users to online locations containing content residing on remote third-party systems.
  • Zero Financial Benefit from Infringing Activity: RKMovies is free software and derives no direct financial benefit from the transmission of specific third-party media streams.
  • Prompt Notice-and-Takedown Compliance: RKMovies maintains an active mechanism to receive formal notices of claimed infringement and promptly purge or disable matching index entries.

3. Strict Anti-Malvertising & Ad Safety Guarantee

Unlike rogue piracy portals (such as Moviesmod, Filmyzilla, HDHub4u, or YoMovies), RKMovies has a strict Zero Malvertising Policy across its website and client software:

  • No Forced Auto-Redirects: Under no circumstances will touching the screen or clicking navigation open unwanted browser tabs or redirect to third-party ad networks.
  • No Deceptive "Download" Graphics: No fake green/blue download buttons, deceptive scanner warnings, or click-jacking overlays exist anywhere in our products.
  • Ethical Ad Demarcation: Any sponsored advertisement unit is clearly labeled as ADVERTISEMENT and isolated in sandboxed containers.

4. Zero-Telemetry Privacy Architecture

RKMovies was engineered with privacy by design:

  • No User Accounts: You do not need an email, phone number, or login to use RKMovies.
  • No Telemetry or Analytics: The software does not track your IP address, device identifier, watch history, or search queries.
  • Local Storage Only: All bookmarks, watch progress, and history remain strictly on your local device (HTML5 localStorage / Android SQLite).

5. Designated Copyright Agent & Takedown Procedure

If you are a copyright owner or an authorized agent thereof and believe that any content linked or indexed via RKMovies infringes upon your copyright, you may submit a formal notification containing:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
  3. Identification of the material to be removed, including specific URLs or feed identifiers.
  4. Information reasonably sufficient to permit us to contact you (email address and phone number).
  5. A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material is not authorized.
  6. A statement that the information in the notification is accurate under penalty of perjury.
